Cuillin Ridge – challenging climbing location in the gabbro Cuillin Hills on the island of Skye, Scotland
gabbro – coarse-grained igneous rock, rich in magnesium and iron and dark in color
gritstone – a hard, coarse-grained, siliceous sandstone often used for building in Great Britain
Lewisian gneiss – Precambrian metamorphic rocks 1.7 to 3 billion years old found in northwestern Scotland and the Outer Hebrides including the Isle of Lewis
Moray – cliffs of the Moray Hills that make up the coastline of the Moray Firth on the east coast of Scotland
Peak District – climbing region and National Park southwest of Sheffield, England
peridotite – coarse-grained igneous rock, rich in olivine and iron, dark green in color
quarry bolting – quarry drilling with drill bolts
quarry drill lines – a close series of horizontal or vertical bore holes used to cleave stone slabs
